There are just some brides that make wedding calligraphy a cinch for invitations: Mary Michael is one of those!
I’m just pleased as punch with how Mary Michael and Tanner’s wedding calligraphy turned out … I mean, I know just as well as she does how Samford University can be a good place to drum up a marriage: my husband and I also fell for each other on that Lakeshore Drive campus (click here to read up on our love story!)!
Thanks to Jamison Skinner Photography for capturing this effortless-yet-high-end wedding: it was simple, elegant, and all-around joyful overlooking the city of Birmingham—keep reading to see a little secret behind the custom “M” wedding logo we made for the couple, and to relive a bit of that magic golden hour light Jamison captured!
Wedding calligraphy for Mary Michael kicked off on the right foot: I mean, when a bride tells you her color palette is likely going to be along the lines of a succulent-ish green and “summery J. Crew blue” you’re in (and any Samford girl worth her salt knows what J. Crew blue looks like in a summer catalog).
And confession: I had to throw a little bit of Samford-ness into things, because Mary Michael and Tanner were just finishing up their time! Mary Michael is a member of Chi Omega, so look carefully at the “M” custom wedding logo we created—the laurel design is a riff off of the Chi Omega crest … sometimes, sorority crests are just too pretty not to use, right?
Sure did love getting to serve this sweet couple as they got married at Riverchase Baptist Church and headed to The Club wedding venue in Birmingham, Alabama—in fact, my own mother had a bridal shower there back in the day, so it’s a bit sentimental to me, too!
Just love these photos—thank you again, Jamison Skinner Photography for sharing these dreamy, film-like shots!
