Wedding calligraphy and invitation design is so much more fun to piece together for a bride when you know one of your best friends will be shooting it!
My bestie from high school in Montgomery Brooke Glassford nailed this Moore’s Mill Country Club wedding … and I’m sure it doesn’t help at all that Auburn couple Katelin and Sean are enough to make a photographer’s camera melt. 😉
Katelin and I met on my cousin’s bachelorette weekend years ago, and she struck me way back then with her fun-loving attitude (and beauty!). Plus, she and Sean wanted their dog to have a place in the wedding paper lineup and full-calligraphy wedding invitation design–which you know won a gold star of approval from this dog lover.
Oh, and because it’s so fun to see sketches, look at where we started … the Auburn oaks made an appearance from the save-the-date onward. Keep reading to see how Auburn-y this wedding was (including a shaker exit … Waaarrrr Eagle, hey!).
Here are some of Brooke’s gorgeous images from the wedding–but don’t stop there: hop over the the Colorbox Photography blog and see her full round-up. Auburn First United Methodist and Moore’s Mill made for a beautiful backdrop for this classic southern wedding calligraphy.
One of my FAVORITE touches with this wedding calligraphy suite was that seal on the program: being Auburn grads, Katelin wanted to have the theme of the Auburn oaks tied into the design. I hand sketched an oak that we ended up not using to make room for the cross on the invitation, but on a full-calligraphed suite like this, you’ve got enough flourishing going on, right?
Good ol’ classic copperplate!
Thanks to my Brookie Cookie for making this suite look as pretty in the photographs as I dreamed it’d be. 🙂
