Need an experienced speaker for your next event? I'd be honored to be considered: I deliver engaging, powerful talks to creative business owners, women's events, church and university groups, and writing workshops.
At 21, I began speaking around the nation to women's groups on leadership development and marketing recruitment as a consultant for an international sorority—eight years later, I still love it.
Here's the scoop on my signature talks, what to expect, and more.

SEAL THE DEAL: conversion copy 101
Copywriting is the art and science of words that coach a conversion in marketing—something I first honed working for clients like Delta Air Lines and Chick-fil-A. This session teaches creative entrepreneurs how to DIY their own copy, from understanding the client journey, discovering their unique selling proposition, and basic copywriting formulas to plug and play.
work from a place of rest
In 2015, I was partially hospitalized for anxiety, depression, and anorexia—stripped of my corporate marketing job, and nearly stripped of my fledgling marriage ... I never thought mental illness would impact me. Recovery taught me how to deal and the "new rules" of perfectionism. Attendees gain insight on eating disorder and mental health awareness, tools to use themselves, and more.
EMAIL COPY FOR CREATIVES
This session can be tailored for your audience: I've given it to more advanced entrepreneurs (funnel mapping, A/B testing, Fibonacci sequences, oh my!) and to beginners (think opt-in, segmentation, and newsletter basics). This one works great for the digital platform—you'll learn how to grow your business, improve the reader experience, and more.
"It was such a joy to connect with you at Creative At Heart this week! Your talk was so helpful and really helped me dig into what my onlyness factor is and why that's important, but it was your vulnerability in sharing your experience battling an eating disorder that meant so much to me. Going into this week I had the expectation to learn more about business (and I did!), but what I didn't expect was to learn even more about myself in the most personal ways. Thank you so much for sharing your heart and know that it made an impact on this girl. You've been such a source of encouragement to me, Ashlyn!"
- Julia Pethtel, conference attendee
"I wanted to reach out and let you know that I just listened to you speak, and I am so inspired and pumped up.
Thank you for being incredible, real, raw, and motivating. Your story is so great, and I really loved that you feel you need to do more in all of your work. As I try hard to get my business off the ground, it was so refreshing to hear your words. Thank you, Ashlyn—keep doing your AMAZING things!"
- Lucy Dunne of Dunnebells, conference attendee
Ashlyn writes bespoke, meaningful words for creative women as a copywriter & calligrapher. She left her job as a publicist to go full-time with her calligraphy biz for brides—and realized there were lots of creative entrepreneurs fumbling with their message and sales copy (you can take the girl out of the PR agency ... ).
She traded clients like Delta Air Lines and Chick-fil-A to work with creative industry dreamies like Jenna Kutcher, Katelyn James, Hilary Rushford, Heather Crabtree, Justin & Mary Marantz, and dozens more, crafting conversion copy. While growing her calligraphy business, work appeared in Southern Weddings Magazine, The Knot, the Celebration Society, and more. Ashlyn's a member of the International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers (IAMPETH), the Atlanta Calligraphy Guild, and is a certified copywriter by CopyHackers.

When not contemplating word-nerd things like the Oxford comma or writing in third person, she's usually trying to scratch the ink off my fingernails or grabbing margs and tacos with my hot hubby.
